Hellenic Army M577 ex- US Army

Following Gulf War II some surplus US material was passed on the Hellenic army. Among this material were M577 armoured command vehicles, one of which formerly served with the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, US Army. It seems that this vehicle was not immediately repainted in greek army colours but retained its desert sand finish for a short while. Although Greek number plates and national insignia were added and most US army markings oversprayed in black, it retained its serial number, a large CX marking and an Indian brave graphic on the sides.

In US service the C indicated C Troop and X indicated Headquarters. It belonged to 1st Squadron, whose radio callsign was "Commanche", hence the Indian brave graphic. Thanks to John Charvat for providing the information on the US markings.

These markings may be ordered in any scale.
