M47 tank "HELLAS"

The first M47 tanks to enter service with the Hellenic Army often carried names on the glacis plate (see instruction sheet of set LM 35003). The first tank of the type to enter service was named HELLAS (Greece).

This set of markings in 1/35 scale costs 1 Euro. If ordered with set LM 35003 the additional markings cost 0.50 Euro.

The photo shows the prime minister Konstantinos Karamanlis, in what could well be the tank's naming ceremony as he seems to be swinging a bottle hung from the tank's gun barrel, probably during a military exercise.
