Olympic Airways Nihon YS-11
In 1970 Olympic Airways purchased the YS-11 passenger aircraft, from the Japanese manufacturer Nihon, to replace its ageing fleet of Douglas DC-3 and DC-6 aircraft used for domestic flights. The new type remained in service until 1980. That year 6 aircraft of the type were handed over to the Hellenic Air Force to start a new military career.
In kit form the YS-11 has been released in 1/72 scale by Bandai.
Markings for any aircraft in service with Olympic Airways may printed to order. In 1/72 scale the set costs 15 Euro.
Olympic Aviation Short SC.7 Skyvan
Olympic Aviation was Olympic Airlines' subsidiary for domestic flights. From the early 1970s the company employed two Skyvans SX-BBO and SX-BBN named "Isle of Skiathos" and "Isle of Mykonos" respectively. Airfix has produced a 1/72 scale kit of the Short Skyvan, but unfortunately the markings were incorrect. The only kit marking that can be used is the walkway marking for the aircraft's roof.
Photographic reference for these aircraft is plentiful on the internet.
This set of markings includes all the markings necessary to build an accurate model of either of the two aircraft. Markings for both aircraft can be printed to any scale required.
The price for the 1/72 scale set is 10.00 Euros.
Olympic Airways Boeing 747-200
Olympic Airways had five Boeing 747-200 Jumbo airliners in service. These aircraft carried registrations from SX-OAA to SX-OAE and were all named. This set of markings is for SX-OAA "Olympic Zeus". Markings for the other aircraft of the same type may be ordered if required. These markings can be printed to any scale required.
LMX 0113 Ju 52 ΕΕΕΣ
In 1938 the Hellenic Aerial Transport Company SA (ΕΕΕΣ) procured three Junkers Ju 52 - 3/m aircraft. The first of these arrived in Athens at the end of June 1938 and was registered SX-ACF. The other two were SX-ACH and SX-ACI. With a crew of three and carrying 17 passengers, these aircraft were used for the Athens-Salonika and Athens -Heraklion routes. They aircraft were finished like their Lufthansa counterparts at the time. At the start of WWII the aircraft were placed in RHAF service.
Unfortunately very few photos of these aircraft have been found. Markings can be ordered for any of the three aircraft in service in any scale required.
Aérospatiale Alouette III Olympic Aviation
Olympic Aviation had one Alouette III helicopter in service, SX-HAC, which seems to have carried two different liveries during its career. The first one is the "white" scheme and the last one the "blue" one. Both versions of this set of markings can be ordered in any scale required by the modeller.
